Duct Sealing
The money you spend to heat and cool your home needs to be going into your home and not into unconditioned areas. The attic, crawlspaces, or wall cavities can be culprits of conditioned air loss. The term "duct tape" or "duck tape" is as old as duct work itself. Duct tape, or any other tape, is glue based and the glue on the tape will dry out, become brittle, and lose it's ability to seal properly over time. Even the certified UL-181 metal tape will only work as good as how well the surface was prepared. Leaks on the return side of your AC system means your system could be sucking in 130 degree dirty and unfiltered air from the attic. This requires the AC system to work extra hard to cool that air and can also lead to equipment failure. Our duct sealing service includes removing all of the old tape, cleaning the service, and applying a water based mastic sealant. When properly applied it provides a nearly lifelong seal that remains slightly pliable to prevent additional leaks from shifts and settling.
